How Much Money Do California Notary Publics Make

Ever wonder how much money a California Notary Makes?

If your just doing simple notary’s don’t plan on getting rich. California has set the max rate at $10.00 per signature. So five signatures from a signer you make $50.00. You are free to charge less or nothing at all if you so desire.

California doesn’t have a maximum charge on travel fees or mileage fees. So if you are a mobile notary in California you can make quite a bit more. With gas price hitting $5.00 a gallon you need to make sure you charge a descent amount.

Another option you have is being a loan signing agent. Prices are all over for those. I’ve seen some people charge $50.00 and some $400.00
