Alameda County Fair In Pleasanton California

While there may be “99 Ways to Come Out & Play” this year at the Alameda County Fair, perhaps the most exciting reason – albeit an odd one – is Jungle George’s Exotic Meats & Bugs.

With such items on their menu as smoked alligator ribs, buffalo, elk burgers, frog legs, kangaroo burgers, lion, maggot burgers, python on a stick, raccoon on a stick, rocky mountain oysters, scorpion, venison, and yak, Jungle George’s is a surprise delight to the taste buds.

To top it all off, there are chocolate covered maggots and scorpions, as well as deep fried butter and jelly beans for dessert.

While I can only vouch for what I tried, my favorite of which were the rocky mountain oysters, I highly recommend visiting Jungle George’s for your own culinary walk on the while side.

Don’t worry if you’re not able to make it out to the Alameda County Fair this year to taste the crazy and exotic foods, because you can order pretty much anything you can think of from Exotic Meat Market HERE.

Aside from Jungle George’s Exotic Meats & Bugs, another food highlight of the fair this year is the ‘Gourmet Poppers’ stand, where you can get the absolutely delicious cheeseburger poppers. Deep fried hamburger meat and cheddar cheese – can it get any better?

If fair food isn’t you’re thing, there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy at the Alameda County Fair, including all the traditional rides and agricultural displays.

In the months since we purchased the land for Mullins Farms, our interest in outdoor landscaping has grown considerably, so of course the garden displays were of special interest to us this year.
