Burning Man 2012 – Now With A Farmer’s Market!

Located on the Playa at Baghdad and 530, the Black Rock City Farmers Market opens at 8:00am Tuesday, August 30th thru Friday, September 2nd with a great big smile.

“It’s 8am, you’re dusty, you’re hankering for a slice of juicy melon, a gnarly carrot or a sweet cob of corn; the BRC Farmers Market can provide!”

The conditions on the Playa can be brutal at Burning Man, making getting all the proper minerals and nutrients during your stay extremely important. Enjoying the fruits and vegetables at the Black Rock City Farmers Market is a great way to this!

The Black Rock City Farmers Market was started by More Carrot at Burning Man 2010. Motivated by the year’s theme “Metropolis, Life of Cities,” More Carrot thought about what they appreciated in various cities and found that they shared a passion for high-quality, locally-grown produce, like that found at farmers markets.

Over 80% of produce found at the Black Rock City Farmers Market comes from organic farmers in Nevada, thus supporting local agriculture.

Hey, how wonderful! We brought a great deal of apples and pears to gift “on the hoof,” but I’d love to hook up with you guys and see if we can’t grow this thing so big that nobody on the playa who wants fresh food will go without.
